The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority (Authority) has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program in accordance with the regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), 49 CFR Part 26. The Authority receives Federal financial assistance from the USDOT, and as a condition of receiving this assistance, the Authority has signed an assurance that it will comply with 49 CFR Part 26.
It is the policy of the Authority to ensure that DBE firms, as defined in Part 26, have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in USDOT assisted contracts awarded by the Authority. As a result, the Authority implements a DBE Construction Goal based upon the type and intensity of construction related projects established for the fiscal year and public input. The Authority, in accordance with 49 CFR Part 23, also provides a program for the participation of Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBEs) in Authority concession related contracting opportunities. The Authority is NON-certifying member of the Florida Unified Certification Program (FUCP), administered by the Florida DOT, which provides one-stop certification to applicants seeking DBE certification in the State of Florida. Upon obtaining DBE certification through the FUCP, that certification will be honored by all FUCP members and will be listed in the State of Florida's DBE Directory.
