SRQ 2014 PASSENGER AIRCRAFT DISASTER RESPONSE EXERCISE (PADRE)
WHAT: Triennial full-scale emergency disaster drill at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).
WHEN: Wednesday April 16, 2014, starting at 3:00 p.m. (ending around 5:00 p.m.)
WHO: The drill will involve approximately 250 people. Volunteers will act as crash victims, while personnel from the Airport Authority and participating agencies from both Sarasota and Manatee County will conduct the tasks related to emergency response situations.
WHERE: The “disaster area” is set at Gate B3 on the air carrier ramp, inside the secured area of the airfield/airport (see map on next page).
HOW: Media covering the event should proceed to the general parking area on Car Rental Rd (see map) where Airport Authority personnel will assist with parking. Media should arrive before 3:00 p.m. and will be escorted inside the airport’s perimeter fence at the east end of the air carrier ramp (Gate 15s).
Because of the scope of the exercise and the involvement of multiple local agencies, the Airport Authority requests the media inform the public of the upcoming disaster exercise.
