SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES NEW JETBLUE AIRWAYS FLIGHTS FROM NEW YORK LAGUARDIA TO SRQ

The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority is pleased to announce that JetBlue Airways has added non-stop daily flights between Sarasota Bradenton International (SRQ) and New York’s LaGuardia (LGA) commencing June 11, 2012.

Mr. Fredrick Piccolo SRQ President, CEO stated, “We are delighted with the announcement by JetBlue Airways of new daily service to LaGuardia Airport in New York City. This is the preferred airport for travelers going to Manhattan for business and tourism purposes. The commitment and partnership we have enjoyed with JetBlue has never been stronger and we are grateful and excited about the faith they have placed in our community. We are confident this new service will be a success and look forward to future expansion opportunities.”

SRQ Board Chairman Carlos Beruff commented, “The Board recently approved a staff recommendation to enhance our airline service incentive program and it is clear that this decision is already paying dividends. The airport is working very hard to mitigate service reductions by another carrier and it is good to know we have JetBlue as a strong community partner.”
