SRQ Wins Florida Public Relations Association Award for “Do You SRQ” Campaign
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport has received an honorable mention by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Image Awards for Be Creative Studios’ work on the “Do You SRQ?” Campaign. FPRA announced the award at their” Under the Stars” event on April 18, at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
The "Do You SRQ?" campaign has been running since November 2012. The goal of the campaign is to elevate brand awareness in the local community, raise awareness of the airports tremendous economic impact including the generation of over $962 million into the local economy and over 11,000 jobs, and informing residents that the airport has no taxing power and is funded through its business operations. The new program includes an advertising campaign, a “Do You SRQ?" Pledge for community businesses and non-profits to commit to considering SRQ first when flying and an aggressive airline incentive program designed to raise airline interest in adding seats and flights to SRQ while leveraging the community Pledges. Rick Piccolo, CEO, President of Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority, said, “We are thrilled to have been recognized by the FPRA for the “Do You SRQ” Campaign and compliment Be Creative on their collaboration in this effort.”
The Central West Coast chapter of the FPRA organizes the Image Awards annually to recognize outstanding public relations in the state of Florida. The awards cover four divisions: Public Relations Programs, Printed Tools of Public Relations, Audio/Visual/Online Tools of Public Relations, and Student Projects in Public Relations.
